History of G-Force MMA

Mrs. G and Master Ron Gabelman

Ron and Teresa Gabelman first started ATA Taekwondo under Mr. Larry Creech of Creechs ATA in Butler, Ky. back in 1985. They were the first of a group of 40 new white belt students under Mr. Creech when he opened his club. After their first class they were on their way to careers with the ATA. They started helping Mr. Creech with beginner students at the rank of Blue Belt Decided, since at the time they were the senior ranking students and the new club was growing at a fast rate. They continued training and assisting Mr. Creech until 1989 when they moved to Withamsville, Ohio. Since they were now about an hour away from Creechs they decided to try to find another training location closer to home.
They searched all the martial arts schools and clubs in the Anderson/Eastgate areas. Mr. Gabelman remembers, “We went to every school in the area and nothing even came close to the quality of training we received from the ATA (American Taekwondo Association) and Creechs Taekwondo. Songahm Taekwondo is a much more advanced system of martial arts training, that most people dont even realize what they are missing in their training.”

“Songahm really enhances those beautiful but powerful kicks of this ancient Korean Martial Art from the very first belt (white). Grandmaster Lee and the ATA are light years ahead of all Grandmasters, Masters, and Instructors of other styles, so much now that we are often imitated and attempted to be duplicated. This is why we are the Largest Martial Arts association in the World. ”

Mr. & Mrs. Gabelman under the fine toolage of Mr. Larry Creech, decided since there were no ATA quality schools they would start spreading Songahm to the Cincinnati Area. They started teaching some neighborhood kids in their garage in the Fall of 1989. In about a month they had forty five kids training in four classes a night. Mrs. Gabelman remembers, “Our neighbors were really nice they even let waiting parents sit in their driveways to pick up kids from class” We were a little scared at first about going out and renting a building, we thought maybe most of the students would quit. Mr. Creech had a lot of confidence in us and he said he would guide us all the way. To this day Mr. Creech is still by our side and supports in all our endeavours. Without you Sir, none of this would have been possible.”

Since 1990, they have had the opportunity to train with some of the Greatest Martial Artist of all time such as Grandmaster H.U. Lee, Master G.K. Lee, Master M.K. Lee, Master Phillip Minton, Rickson Gracie, Royce Gracie, Royler Gracie, Carlos Machado, Jorge Gurgel, Prof. Marcus Aurelio, John Whitman, Sam Sade, Darren Levine, Amir Perets, Moni Aizik, and Bas Rutten.

In 1998, Mr. Gabelman started to work on a complete mixed martial arts system by which a student could actually learn real self defense and be able to apply these techniques on the street. Most systems are designed for sport, our G-Force system is designed for the sport aspects as well as the street. In the past most styles were afraid to step outside the realm of their system only teaching “traditional” martial arts.

In 2002, Mr. and Mrs. Gabelman and their Senior Ranking Black Belts began introducing the students to the New G-Force Mixed Martial Arts System. Krav Maga classes were also introduced for the students who didn””””””””t want to train in a traditional Martial Arts atmosphere but wanting to learn realistic self defense.

In 2005 they decided to leave the ATA and join forces with other Instructors who felt the organization became to much about making money then teaching martial arts.

Teresa Gabelman is a 3rd Degree Black Belt and two time World Champion of the ABOC World Championships and was #1 in the state of Ohio in sparring. She will be testing for 4th Degree in 2010.

In 2008 Mr. Gabelman was promoted to 5th Degree and obtained the Rank of Master Instructor.

You can Benefit from Martial Arts

Martial arts punchNowadays, more and more people are exercising martial arts because the training of martial arts can give many benefits. It not only teaches you how to fight, but also it can improve your health, physically and mentally.

It is beyond the doubt that martial arts training can improve the physical fitness of the player. Martial art is a kind of sports that can work every muscle in your body, allowing the human body to function well. Punching and kicking are common acts of martial arts, which is good for you to strengthen your arms, shoulders, backs and legs. Martial arts can be played by everyone in any training space. Through training, the physically weak individual can develop the body gradually.

Through martial arts training, the practitioners also can improve their mental fitness. When practicing, the players are in the state of peace. They put aside their desire, irritation and restlessness. The exercise of martial arts can release the stress, giving a peaceful mind. This mentality is great for your health and career.

The training of martial arts can perfect the character of the player. The exercising of martial arts can teach the player respect themselves and others. It can develop their courtesy and personal integrity and self-discipline.

Martial Arts are great for improving self-confidence. Learning self-defense increases the self-confidence of practitioners by taking away their feeling of vulnerability. Confidence allows you to remain calm during difficult situations. By remaining calm, one can assess the situation more clearly and act appropriately. When faced with a compromising situation, those capable of defending themselves should need to use physical force less often than those who cannot defend themselves. But you should know that the goal is not to teach people to fight those who argue or disagree, instead, it is to teach to defend yourselves when necessary.

The ability to focus can be increased through the training of the martial arts. The player are unable to learn martial arts well if they can not concentrate their focus. The player can improve their ability to concentrate by focusing their mind, their eyes and their body in training.

With regular training, we can easily see the benefits. Martial arts strives internally to train the mind to develop a clear conscience, enabling one to face the world honestly, while externally developing strength to the point where one may overcome ferocious wild animals.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for Kids and Teens

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for Kids and Teens
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is an art/sport that teaches discipline, self-defense, and get you into shape while having fun. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu also helps you release stress, control breathing rhythm, and gives you an overall great workout physically and mentally. It teaches you to train your body and mind. This sport is created where from the second you come across you opponent you automatically pay respect to them and then the same after the mach is over.

Kids and Teen need to be involved within a sport where they can interact with other kids there age and size so they can feel like they fit in. Kids and teens everyday are wandering around the streets looking to get into more trouble because they have nothing better to do. Well I think there is something for them to do. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a sport where you are able to open up and talk to other kids not feel any peer pressure at all because it is a martial art. Out there hanging around in the neighborhood not using your valuable time constructively will change once Brazilian Jiu Jitsu enters your life. This is an art to grow up with. You will pick up traits that will stick to you like glue for the rest of your life. Not just for the martial art side but for your everyday life, rather than ‘chilling’ with your ‘friends’ afterschool getting into trouble.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is something everyone will fall in love with, especially the kids and teens because it teaches so much valuable techniques for life and at the same time your getting in shape and your attitude toward school is better more and more. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is also a competitive sport where you can train really hard and then go out and showcase your ability against other kids your age and size in front of a crowd of people that are cheering you on. You got adrenaline pumping and you just cannot wait to get out on that mat. Going hard against your opponent giving all you got and then in the end your hand is raised in victory is a feeling that will be life changing immediately. Most kids and teenagers do not have the opportunity to say to their selves’ ‘good job’ because they worked for something real hard by putting a lot of heart and effort into it. That is the mindset that kids and teens will have once they begin Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. There confidence will build and they will shift there momentum of hard work over toward school work. All of those life changing experiences are in one sport and it is absolutely amazing, but it is all up to you to accomplish those things.
