Ron and Teresa Gabelman first started ATA Taekwondo under Mr. Larry Creech of Creechs ATA in Butler, Ky. back in 1985. They were the first of a group of 40 new white belt students under Mr. Creech when he opened his club. After their first class they were on their way to careers with the ATA. They started helping Mr. Creech with beginner students at the rank of Blue Belt Decided, since at the time they were the senior ranking students and the new club was growing at a fast rate. They continued training and assisting Mr. Creech until 1989 when they moved to Withamsville, Ohio. Since they were now about an hour away from Creechs they decided to try to find another training location closer to home.
They searched all the martial arts schools and clubs in the Anderson/Eastgate areas. Mr. Gabelman remembers, “We went to every school in the area and nothing even came close to the quality of training we received from the ATA (American Taekwondo Association) and Creechs Taekwondo. Songahm Taekwondo is a much more advanced system of martial arts training, that most people dont even realize what they are missing in their training.”

“Songahm really enhances those beautiful but powerful kicks of this ancient Korean Martial Art from the very first belt (white). Grandmaster Lee and the ATA are light years ahead of all Grandmasters, Masters, and Instructors of other styles, so much now that we are often imitated and attempted to be duplicated. This is why we are the Largest Martial Arts association in the World. ”

Mr. & Mrs. Gabelman under the fine toolage of Mr. Larry Creech, decided since there were no ATA quality schools they would start spreading Songahm to the Cincinnati Area. They started teaching some neighborhood kids in their garage in the Fall of 1989. In about a month they had forty five kids training in four classes a night. Mrs. Gabelman remembers, “Our neighbors were really nice they even let waiting parents sit in their driveways to pick up kids from class” We were a little scared at first about going out and renting a building, we thought maybe most of the students would quit. Mr. Creech had a lot of confidence in us and he said he would guide us all the way. To this day Mr. Creech is still by our side and supports in all our endeavours. Without you Sir, none of this would have been possible.”

Since 1990, they have had the opportunity to train with some of the Greatest Martial Artist of all time such as Grandmaster H.U. Lee, Master G.K. Lee, Master M.K. Lee, Master Phillip Minton, Rickson Gracie, Royce Gracie, Royler Gracie, Carlos Machado, Jorge Gurgel, Prof. Marcus Aurelio, John Whitman, Sam Sade, Darren Levine, Amir Perets, Moni Aizik, and Bas Rutten.

In 1998, Mr. Gabelman started to work on a complete mixed martial arts system by which a student could actually learn real self defense and be able to apply these techniques on the street. Most systems are designed for sport, our G-Force system is designed for the sport aspects as well as the street. In the past most styles were afraid to step outside the realm of their system only teaching “traditional” martial arts.

In 2002, Mr. and Mrs. Gabelman and their Senior Ranking Black Belts began introducing the students to the New G-Force Mixed Martial Arts System. Krav Maga classes were also introduced for the students who didn””””””””t want to train in a traditional Martial Arts atmosphere but wanting to learn realistic self defense.

In 2005 they decided to leave the ATA and join forces with other Instructors who felt the organization became to much about making money then teaching martial arts.

Teresa Gabelman is a 3rd Degree Black Belt and two time World Champion of the ABOC World Championships and was #1 in the state of Ohio in sparring. She will be testing for 4th Degree in 2010.

In 2008 Mr. Gabelman was promoted to 5th Degree and obtained the Rank of Master Instructor.
